Rob Lazorchak, M.A.T., Certified Teacher

Rob has ten years of full-time scholastic chess teaching experience, and in that time he's developed National Champions, many players on the United States Chess Federation's "Top 100" lists, and thousands of children that now love to play chess.

He is a Class A player, USCF Certified Advanced Coach, and FIDE (World Chess Organization) Instructor. In addition to Diplomat Chess, Rob teaches curriculum chess classes at Success Academy Hell's Kitchen, a charter school in Manhattan.

Rob completed his student teaching in the Fairfax County, VA and Washington, D.C. public school systems, and is certified to teach general education in grades 1-6. He has an active teacher's license and has undergone all of the necessary fingerprinting/background checks to be cleared to work with children.

His education consists of a Masters Degree in Teaching from American University, a B.A. in English Literature from Franklin & Marshall College (Go Diplomats!), and a high school diploma from The Pingry School.

He lives in Manhattan with his wife and son.
