Chess Coach, Part-Time, Hourly, $30-$50
We are looking for individuals that like to play chess, have previous experience working with children (ages 5-13), and are interested in working part-time during after school hours.
You don’t need to be a chess master, but it certainly doesn’t hurt! Regardless, we will provide paid training and step-by-step lesson plans so you will feel comfortable in the classroom.
Earn $45-$75 per club meeting (90-minute time commitment)
Knowledgeable in the rules of chess and basic strategy
Experience with elementary-age children
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be available at least 2 weekdays during the school year from 2:30 pm 4:30 pm
Have a reliable vehicle for transportation
Ability to lift 20 lbs of teaching/playing equipment
Manage a classroom of 10-24 students (Assistant Coaches are usually provided for larger groups)
Use our lessons to effectively teach the rules of chess and basic strategy/tactics
Supervise dismissal and parent pickup
Send a brief summary email to the Program Director following each club meeting
